The 2017-2018 Inspiration Book and Catalog is full of creative inspiration.
This card was inspired by the card found at the bottom of page 76 and features the Summer Garden Stamp Set.
You may notice that my card is quite different, but that is the beauty of being inspired to create.
I love the sparkle and shine of the bee wings and the soft transition that the vellum offers.
The Journey Splash Watercolor pencils have bright and bold colors that don’t lose their intensity when added to water. There are a few ways to watercolor with these pencils and they work great on Fun Stampers Journey Whip Cream Card stock and Color Splash Watercolor sheets. For this card, I added color from the lead of the pencil to a blob of water on a clear block. This technique makes it very easy to blend the colors to get the shade you want before adding it to your project.
Here are a couple of cards that were created just a tad bit differently.
For this card, I used the color splash sheets for the main panel on the front, I pierced the whip cream oval, used sparkle silk for some shine and also added Natural Journey Twine. I also used Grape Fusion instead of Watermelon Fusion as a layer for the watercolor piece.
For this last card, I used Color Splash watercolor paper for the larger panel, pierced the whip cream oval, added Journey Sparkle Dust and Journey glaze to the bee wings, and journey glaze to the yellow portion of the large flowers. The edges of the whip cream oval and water color panel were sponged with Hazelnut Blend ink using a fusion ink sponge. I used sentiments from the Sentimental Prints Stamp Set to create a sympathy card.
Here are the paper dimensions used:
Lemon Grass – 4 1/4 X 11 folded in half to create a card base that measures 4 1/4 X 5 1/2
Watermelon Fusion – 3 7/8 X 5 1/8
Whip Cream – 3 3/4 X 5 and 4 X 5 1/4
