Which one is your favorite?

Have you ever created a card and then wondered what it would look like if you heat embossed the image or just changed something simple? Well, I had that thought and I couldn’t resist playing around with a very simple layout. I created 5 variations of the same card and I love each one!

There is a Giveaway on my FB page ( Create With Compassion ) that gives you an opportunity to win one of these cards.  There are two ways to win!  The post is pinned to the top of the page.

I also couldn’t resist exploring more ways to add color to my projects with the Color Splash. You can save 20% on color splashes and silks during April 2018!  Click on the image below to shop this promotion.

Here is the video sharing the creation of the card and the fun I  had with the Cool Pool Color Splash.

I had a lot of fun exploring different ways to mist my paper with the Cool Pool color splash.  I find that I am more confident with my spraying when I am outside and don’t have to worry about getting color on everything surrounding my card stock.  You can spritz it directly onto the card stock from varying distances to achieve slightly different amounts of saturation or spritz the color into the air then swipe the card stock through the mist that is hovering in the air.  Wind, length of time between spritzing and swiping, and the speed of the swipe seems to make a slight difference in the amount of saturation and look of your card stock.  I do recommend not wearing long sleeves or if you have them on, push them up.  You will get some color added to your hand if you are holding the card stock while adding color to it.  The color splash comes off easily and quickly with a little soap and water.  I recommend washing right away to help keep your project smudge free.

All of the cards were created using the same technique of using cool pool splash to “ink” the solid butterfly body stamp to add gorgeous color to the butterfly.  I also used the cool pool splash to add color to the whip cream panel, some of the pictures do not show the true color and beauty of the color splash.  Amazing what a little spritz can do!

Here is a look at each card variation.

The first one originally had no extra embellishments, but I received the awesome Journey Sequins- Blue Skies that have some cool pool sequins included.  I just had to add them to one of the cards and I love them!!  You can see what the card looked like without the sequins by viewing the video – it is shown near the beginning.  I stamped the lined butterfly image and sentiment with Black Licorice True Color Fusion ink.  I sponged the edges of the whip cream piece with cool pool ink.

For the second card, I wanted to see what Black Heat embossing would look like.  I love the shine and dimension that heat embossing gives, and I was not disappointed!  I sponged the edges with black licorice ink.

For the third card, I stamped all of the images with Black Licorice Ink, then sprinkled some Journey Sparkle Dust  onto the butterfly, then covered it with Journey Glaze.  Oh, I just love that sparkle, shine and added dimension!!  I sponged the edges with Black Licorice Ink, too.

For the fourth card, I wanted to add some sparkle tape but wasn’t sure where to add it so that it didn’t cover my butterfly or sentiment.  So, I added it to the bottom and popped up the sentiment.  The butterfly was stamped with Black Licorice ink and the sentiment was heat embossed with black licorice embossing powder.  I also added Sparkle dust and journey glaze to the butterfly.  I used Black Licorice Sparkle tape and Whip Cream Sparkle tape.  I didn’t have any of the cool pool sparkle tape, so I covered a strip of cool pool cardstock with the whip cream sparkle tape and that lets some of the beautiful cool pool color shine through and the result is so sparkly!  The edges of this card is sponged with Cool Pool Ink.

For the final card, I used the sparkle tape just like in the fourth card and I stamped the butterfly and sentiment with black licorice ink.  I used the Sparkle Silk that was watered down a little bit to paint some sparkle onto the butterfly and the word Beautiful.  There is no sponging done on this card.
